1. Living environment matters
2. Fetal nutrition matters
3. Exercise is a key
4. Drink supplements

The simple question, “Can short parents have tall children?” can actually be more complicated than it sounds. You see, the easiest answer to this is yes, but some people would like to get to know more about why that is so. After all, from the science that we learn at school, it can easily be said that genes take control of everything. However, the truth is that there is more to things than just our genes. Thus, it is actually possible for children to grow tall despite having short parents. If you are interested in making your child grow to their full potential, below are some things that you can do to beat the genes and make a change.

Living environment matters

When the child is out in the world and growing, it is necessary to prepare the best environment for him or her. You want the best for your child, and having a great living environment is certainly going to help out with that. You also need to feed your kid the best food there is, meaning the balanced diet that was previously talked about. Can short parents have tall children? The answer is yes, as long as the kid is given proper nutrition and a safe and caring environment where he can thrive. While it may seem like the environment does not matter, it actually plays a huge role in keeping your child growing as tall as possible.

Fetal nutrition matters

While you may think that your child only grows when he is outside of your womb, that is not necessarily true. In fact, it is said that the fetal stage matters a lot which means to say that you need to really do your best to eat nutritious food if you are carrying it. If you want your kid to grow to his optimal height, you will need to absorb the right amount of nutrients when it comes to that. You will have to be as healthy as possible and get a well-balanced diet in the long run of things. If you are thinking about what you need to consume, below are some of the necessities you should not miss out on.

Carbohydrates

This macronutrient is very important to your body as it is a good source of energy. While a lot of people might advise an expecting mother against this, it is actually something that is necessary. What is important is to find the right source of carbohydrates instead. For example, sweet potatoes, rice, and other fibers that are packed with carbohydrates are good for the body, and they can help out with pregnancy too.

Protein

Protein is an absolute must, and as it is the building block of our muscles inside the body, a pregnant woman must not miss out on it. Whether it is chicken, fish, shrimp, eggs, and even beans, a dose of protein in the diet is necessary. This can help in allowing the baby’s tissues and organs to grow healthily as well. Basically, it makes the circulation of blood around the baby better too. Thus, it is a very important component of the diet and something that must really be taken a look into.

Fats

While fats may seem bad at first, this is something a pregnant woman needs as it can help I n promoting good health and development for the fetus. Fat is actually a required thing in bodily functions, and healthy fats are even better to put in the diet. Some good sources of healthy fats are tuna, olive oil, nuts, and even cheese. Incorporating this into the diet allows the vitamins to go easier to the baby’s body and allows it to grow better and faster.

Vitamins and minerals

The body needs a lot of nutrients to grow, and thus, vitamins and minerals are necessary to allow the body to perform the things that it must do. The same can be said about the baby in the womb. By allowing the minerals and vitamins to go into the bloodstream and into the baby, the baby is bound to grow healthier and much taller than ever.

Exercise is a key

Can short parents have tall children? If you let your kid do the exercises for it, it is absolutely possible. Another key point in making sure that your kid is going to grow tall is to allow him to stretch his limbs. This is because kids have growth hormones that allow them to grow as they get older. However, this can be a bit stagnant if the kid is always just at home and not doing anything. This is why as a parent, it is absolutely a must to encourage them to do exercises and even enroll them in sports such as swimming, basketball, cycling, and more. Allowing them to move around, can easily boost their height effectively and allow them to beat genetics. This can also be something that your kid will enjoy as sports are mostly fun for the little ones, after all. This is basically hitting two birds with one stone, after all.

Drink supplements

Because a person can only get about 60% of the nutrients and minerals they need from the diet, the rest must be supplied through drinking supplements to ensure proper growth. Do not be afraid of buying supplements that allow your child to grow and allow them to go through the growth spurt that they need. Allow them to grow by supplying the necessary amount of minerals and nutrients to their body.

At the end of the day, what matters most is that you give the kids the proper nutrition and environment they deserve to be in.
So in short, can short parents have tall children? If you provide your children with all the necessary things mentioned above, the answer to this is yes. Your children can grow much taller than you are, even if you and your spouse are both short. What matters is you give them the necessary help they can get to grow as much as they can.
